Steel & string: Installations by Advanced Diploma sculpture students
The work of five final year sculpture students is on display at the the Front Room Gallery until April 19. The exhibition is of large scale installations that relate to and play with the gallery's spaces and architecture. It includes a vast entanglemement of string, a giant ribbon, tea cup, and a high relief wall work. The artists featured are Elyssa Jane, Joanna O'Toole, Maggie Hensel Brown, Callan Beaty and Adelaide King.

Those of you following the Donkey exhibition (and other workshop week work) will be pleased to know a great photo of Callan and his sculpture was published in the Newcastle Herald, Thursday 25th August. And continuing with the media blitz, the Front Room Gallery is host to 1233 Local ABC Drive Show. They are doing a live broadcast from the gallery and will focus on the creative industries and the local scene. Come down to the gallery for the visual feast that is radio from 3pm today.

Welcome back for 2011.
The first exhibition of the year in the Front Room Gallery is a selection of work from the finalists of the Ford Grant. They are Stevi Cannon, Brooke Stevens, Jane Robinson, Jesse Neale, Alison Smith and Kaitlyn O'Leary. The exhibition is a strong combinations of drawings, prints, sculptures, photos and paintings from these artists who are graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts.
The exhibition is on until the 25th February.
